Video Inspection: The discovery of a crushed pipe
Video inspection revealed a major surprise: at a depth of 18.5 metres, the pipe showed a significant reduction in diameter. The cause? A root, probably that of the olive tree planted nearby, had crushed the pipe, reducing its cross-section and creating a recurring risk of blockage.
This discovery confirmed the need to do more than simply unblock the pipe. To ensure optimum flow and avoid future problems, the damaged section of pipe had to be replaced.
Location and Repair: A Targeted Response
Thanks to the inspection, we were able to pinpoint the section of pipe that needed replacing. This section was just 20 centimetres below the surface of the ground, making the job relatively straightforward.
After digging, we discovered that the pipe had been bent under the pressure of the olive tree's roots. A photo taken on site clearly shows the state of the crushed pipe.
We replaced this section, ensuring that our customer had a functional and durable pipe.

This intervention highlights the importance of not ignoring the early signs of a pipe problem. A simple blockage can sometimes hide more serious damage, as was the case here. Thanks to hydrocuring and video inspection, we were able to identify and resolve the problem once and for all.
